Day 3 -- Turin sightseeing.
Driving around in Turin. It's a little hazy today.
We walk up to a lookout point with a view of the downtown and the Mole Antonelliana tower.
The Castello del Valentino.
Our tour director Carla is from this area, so she is also our local guide for today.
A view from the lookout with the tower in the background.
Inside of a small church building.
We get dropped off downtown at the Piazza Castello (Castle Square).
The Royal Palace of Turin.
The Chiesa San Lorenzo.
Inside, Carla gives a very good explanation of the merging of the various architectural styles.
After a quick look at the map, Carla gives us some time to wander around.
Around town, there are various musician buskers, such as this electric cello player.
The Monument of Carlo Alberto.
We stop for a treat in one of the larger squares.
The treat is a three-layer coffee-chocolate-cream called bicherin, and it is delicious.
Wandering around looking for lunch, we stop at a focacciaria for a bite.
The food is way tastier than it had any right to be, just focaccia with onions and olives for Wade, and with spicy salami for Kimberly.
While we are sitting eating at a bench, we notice one of the buildings has a "piercing."
We wander back over to Eataly, which has various restaurants and shops inside.
We decide instead to eat across the street at a kebab place, and have chicken shwarma with garlic aioli.
